Worried about Mom

So Mom isn't feeling well again. And as much as I think that this is primarily a psychosomatic thing (she suddenly got lightheaded and prone to falling when she knew that the housing inspection was happening and for a hoarder this is a pretty good strategy) I would really like it if she could get help. There are many organizations in Minnesota but there's a lot of feet dragging.

The problem is that every day I call her she is talking about how she wanted to get some work done but she felt light headed and had to lay down. That's not really how she's handled this in the past and she had a doctor's appointment today. The problem is that UCARE seems to be the current group that she's using as opposed to Metro Mobility which has its own vans. UCARE hires taxi drivers. And the cab driver didn't come so she couldn't go to the doctor.

When she was in the hospital, they really didn't find much beyond a UTI which is pretty common for women her age. But there are symptoms of kidney infection or disease (if you look them up online - which might be perilous) and the doctor last week ran a test for kidney infection. Also pre-diabetic is an issue (as in you aren't diabetic but if you keep eating junk food say goodbye to your foot). And she eats junk only.

So tomorrow she goes to the doctor. I really hoped that she would go to the doctor today but instead she spent all day waiting for the cab from UCARE and then tried to go into the hallway and fell. Apparently she got to meet her neighbors who helped her up, but that's not really a good thing.

I also really hope that she can get someone to come over and clean - or at least deal with the hoarding. I know that comes down to enabling, but she needs to deal with her hoarding habits on her own.
